An IV procurement shortlist needs exact presentation details. Ingredient names alone are insufficient: concentration, container volume and pack identity help distinguish catalogue records and make a product information request unambiguous. This is a commercial identification workflow, not guidance on administration or treatment.
Keep the original concentration expression
Copy the expression shown on the product record or pack, including percent signs, units and denominators. If a name states 1.0% w/v, do not replace it with an unreviewed number. Likewise, an amount stated per 100 mL must keep that denominator until the responsible reviewer confirms any normalized representation.
The paracetamol infusion presentation is labelled 1.0% w/v in a 100 mL container. Keep concentration and container volume in separate fields. Neither field should be silently substituted for an amount per dose.
Identify the specific catalogue record
The catalogue also includes normal saline intravenous infusion 500 mL and Ringer lactate intravenous infusion 500 mL entries. Their appearance in the same category does not make them substitutes. Send each full name and URL as a separate enquiry line.
If a record does not expose composition, container material, pack configuration or another required field, ask for confirmation. Do not complete the missing field from a similar product sold by another brand.
Use a presentation comparison table
| Field | How to record it |
|---|---|
| Name and reference | Exact catalogue name and page URL |
| Concentration | Original expression, including denominator |
| Container volume | Separate volume field with its evidence source |
| Commercial pack | Confirmed unit and number of containers, or an open question |
| Review status | Source document, reviewer and unresolved discrepancies |
Ask the questions that affect the next decision
Explain your destination market and required quantity basis, then request the current product specification and the documentation relevant to the proposed transaction. Ask the responsible team to confirm storage and transport requirements from the applicable controlled documents; do not infer conditions from the dosage form.
Browse the infusions and IV solutions category to identify possible enquiry records. Move only a clearly described shortlist into the Inquiry List, with uncertain details recorded as questions for follow-up.
