What to Prepare Before a Pharmaceutical Distribution Enquiry

2 min read

A distribution enquiry is easier to assess when it explains who is making the request, which products are relevant and what needs to happen next. Prepare a short briefing before contacting Dr. ICO so that the first exchange can focus on your actual requirements.

Describe the business and intended territory

State your company’s legal name, your role and the destination market you want to discuss. Explain the customer groups or channels relevant to your enquiry without including confidential customer records. If your company already carries related product categories, describe that experience accurately.

Distinguish an initial portfolio exploration from a request concerning identified products. A broad introduction can explain your category interests; a product-specific request should include the actual catalogue links. Do not assume that a website’s international enquiry page confirms supply approval or an existing distribution operation in your country.

Build a short, identifiable product list

Use one line for each presentation in the Dr. ICO catalogue. Keep the ingredient or product name, dosage form, stated strength and named pack together. If artwork variants appear similar, retain their separate links until the team confirms their relationship.

Field What to provide
Product reference Full catalogue name and page link
Presentation The strength, form, volume or pack you intend to discuss
Quantity Provisional amount and the commercial unit
Market Intended destination and any known packaging needs
Open question The information needed before your next decision

Separate questions from assumptions

Write down which details come from a catalogue page and which require confirmation. Ask about the current specification, available packaging options, relevant documentation and commercial process. If you need an exclusive arrangement, private-label work or a particular delivery schedule, present it as a request for discussion, not an existing capability or agreement.

Ask your qualified local adviser or responsible team to identify destination requirements for the exact product category. General trade experience does not establish the authorization status of a particular presentation.

Send a request with a clear next step

A concise opening might explain that your company is reviewing specified presentations for a named market and would like confirmation of the product information needed for an internal assessment. Attach or paste the shortlist in a readable format and nominate one person to coordinate follow-up.

Use the Inquiry List for selected products or the business enquiry page for a broader introduction. Keep the original request and subsequent revisions together so both parties can identify the version under discussion.
